Over $1.25 Million dollars in improvements have already been completed in Downtown Angola. But the vision is not complete!

In 2011, the City of Angola has been awarded $1,000,000.00 in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Transportation Enhancement (TE) funds by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District for Phase II of the Maumee Street (US Hwy 20) streetscape improvement project. (read Press Release) This $1,000,000, in addition to $250,000 in matching funds from the City of Angola, will complete the reconstruction of sidewalks from the Railroad to the Public Square on Maumee Street. Examples of construction documents for these sections are attached to the right and can be downloaded.

Additional fundraising will still be required to finish the project. The three "spokes" of the public square (south, east and north) are currently unfunded at this time. Ultimately, fundraising in 2011, 2012 and 2013 will occur with major corporations, foundations and public support efforts to raise these funds.
